SWTOR BOUNTY HUNTER BUILD FULL GUIDE

SWTOR Bounty Hunter Builds — Why do you need one?

(Reminder: All of the builds in this guide are level 50 builds, unless stated otherwise)

Hi fellow SWTOR player! So you chose to become one of the most lethal damage-dealing character in SWTOR, eh? Make no mistake about it, SWTOR Bounty Hunters are vicious and dangerous when it comes to the battlefield. Armed with projectile weapons with the mercy of a mercenary in your heart, you either make or break a clash between the Republic and the Sith Empire. Bounty Hunters are even tagged as “Jedi Killers”, and if you are an enemy of the Republic, that is one badge that you will certainly wear with pride!

Infamous for their ruthlessness and anonymous for the way they conduct their secret paid missions, Bounty Hunters are one of the most enjoyable characters to play in SWTOR. A part of an ancient brotherhood that has legendary professional legacy, many people who love to “play safe” but still dish out the damage prefer to choose the Bounty Hunter SWTOR Class. For one, you don’t have to risk your neck in the battlefield the way Sith Warriors and Jedi Knights do. Firing from a safe distance, you can easily pile up the damage, reload, and then fire away again without having to worry about your health or your defense (so long as you stay out of the danger zone).

To play a Bounty Hunter effectively, you must know your role and execute your strengths inside the battlefield. If you stick to what you are best at and try to stay away from doing stupid things that will only cause your team harm, you will definitely become one of the most crucial players in your team. To get you started on how to build an amazing bounty hunter for your pleasure, I will give you some nifty Bounty Hunter Specs to help you get rolling. As long as you keep it tight and you follow these Bounty Hunter Specs as they are laid out, you will find it enjoyable to play Bounty Hunters in SWTOR.

WHAT SWTOR BOUNTY HUNTER BUILdS SUIT YOU BEST?

……………………………………………………………….

The answer to this question is relative, and as always, it depends on the situation you are at and the type of player that you are to determine what Bounty Hunter spec will suit your game play. If you are on the early stages of the game and you are still trying to figure out a way to reach level 50 in SWTOR, then of course a PVE Leveling Build is what you should have in hand. On the other hand, if you become obsessed with Flashpoints and Operations early on and you want to experiment with some builds best suited for these instances, then trying out a Tanking spec might also prove enjoyable.

It all comes down to what type of player you are, really. If you like dishing damage and killing enemies quickly then go for the DPS build. If you seem to find it challenging to experiment with your character then no one is stopping you to try a PVP or a Tanking spec. Like all the guides here at SWTORDominance, you will be presented with a choice for both SWTOR Bounty Hunter Advanced Classes.

All the specs listed here will cater to the Bounty Hunter Mercenary Class and the Bounty Hunter Powertech Class. If you find that the specs listed are somewhat lacking or overwhelming in some areas, feel free to adjust it to your own style of play. These builds serve only as platform on which you can start your character upon, but they will also work extremely well if you follow them to the last letter. With that said, let’s start this complete Bounty Hunter Spec list!

BOUNTY HUNTER LEVELING SPEC

……………………………………………………………….

Before you go out and dream of glory beyond reach, it is first important that you achieve the SWTOR Cap limit. And there is no other way to reach level 50 in SWTOR than to create a stable leveling build that will make grinding and power leveling not too tiring and consuming for you. To make your life a bit easier, I have here two Bounty Hunter specs crafted especially for the sole purpose of fast leveling.  These are separated for the Mercenary and the Powertech Advanced Classes; all you have to do is level up and pile up the points as they go.

(For the leveling build, the point allocation may vary but i usually stick to the “unlock 1 row” rule. For example, I will first strive to unlock the first row in Bodyguard Tree for the Mercenary Class, then move to the Arsenal Tree followed by the Pyrotech Tree. When all first rows are unlocked, I will move to the second row of Bodyguard and repeat the same process, until the spec shows no more allocation for that specific tree. By that time, I will then unload all of the skill points left to the remaining tree, which in the Mercenary Class’s case is the Arsenal Tree. Also, please do not waste your time putting skills on System Calibrations. There is no sense trying to increase your Alacrity (haste) anymore than necessary because the global cooldown stays permanently at 1.5 seconds. You cannot go faster than the global cooldown so do yourself a favor and just skip that bloody skill)

BOUNTY HUNTER dPS SPEC

……………………………………………………………….

In my opinion, this is where the SWTOR Bounty Hunters stands out. Using DPS Bounty Hunter spec for my test characters in the past gave me mostly positive results, no matter how much blunder I create along the way. Comparing the 2 Bounty Hunter Advanced Classes though, I have come to realize that the Bounty Hunter Mercenaries stand out a bit when it comes to total damage per second (DPS), but the Powertech Bounty Hunter makes up for it with more defense, survivability and tanking capabilities.

If you ask my advice, I’d say choose the Bounty Hunter Mercenary if you are planning to go FULL DPS. I have laid out a perfect Bounty Hunter Mercenary Spec for DPS below, and it is definitely one that I have tried and tested to work well in most situations. With a high critical rate combined with decent accuracy, you will easily pile up those damage to your enemies by doing this spec. (Just keep in mind that you will build Heat quickly when you go full DPS, so make sure that you know how to manage Heat properly.)

On the other hand, if you want to toughen up your Bounty Hunter and get more defense while still dishing out considerable damage, I’d say that the Powertech Build for DPS is your best bet. . As always, tweak and refine the specss according to your preferences, and do not forget to equip your character with customizable gears!

BOUNTY HUNTER TANK SPEC

……………………………………………………………….

The third Bounty Hunter Build that I am presenting to you is a Tanking Build. Now, if you remember what I was saying a bit earlier (you can go take a look above), I was telling you that the Bounty Hunter Mercenary Class does well when you strive for DPS right? The same thing goes around for the Bounty Hunter Powertech Advanced Class, but instead of DPS, the Powertech is much more equipped to be used for Defense. Skills from the Shield Tech Tree such as Shield Vents and Empowered Tech really boosts the survivability of a Powertech Bounty Hunter. Combine that with Rebraced Armor and you’ll surely realize that there is a wide Tanking potential for a Powertech Bounty Hunter.

Swtor Credits Savior Review

You might notice that I only have a Bounty Hunter Tank Spec made for Powertech Class. The reason for that is because the Mercenary seems to possess insufficient skills and abilities to flourish in a Tanking spec. If you have a Bounty Hunter Mercenary Class, I would suggest that you either go to a Hybrid Bounty Hunter PVP build, a Boss Hunting Build or a  Full DPS Bounty Hunter build. That way, you won’t have to force your character out of its comfort zone, which lies mostly in the area of DPS.

BOUNTY HUNTER PVP SPEC

……………………………………………………………….

Lastly, you need to have a formidable PVP spec if you are to dominate the end game in SWTOR. The PVP in SWTOR will be a very dangerous place to go to because the high-level and well-geared players roam this area, so you must have a solid build for PVP, whether it’s for your Mercenary or Powertech Bounty Hunter.

For the PVP Mercenary Build, I prefer to use the capabilities offered by the Pyrotech Tree. If you examine it closely, you will see that the Pyrotech Tree has a lot of disables, status effects and stuns that can really incapacitate your enemy inside the PVP. This Bounty Hunter PVP spec is especially made for team play and not for damage-dealing. You can easily refer to the DPS Bounty Hunter spec above if that is your choice of gameplay, but for me, a Pyrotech Mercenary is much more suitable for PVP.

If you want to follow the Pyrotech Tree for your Powertech Bounty Hunter, you can also do that too. But if you ask me, I prefer to do some sort of a Hybrid Tanking/Damage PVP build for Powertech BH’s. Anyway, it’s still up to you what specs you prefer to use in the warzones. As long as you get out of the battle alive and kicking (and you enjoyed the clash), then my opinion doesn’t matter anyway!
